I was going on the assumption that "enough" implied there wasn't much legroom available while running NXT with one client.
^ Will likely demonstrate just how little I know about the NXT client lol.

So what do you think about Vega?

Comparing the Vega 64 to the GTX 1080, the Vega costs more, draws quite a lot more power, and seems to be performing weaker at most benchmarks and games.

Is there still hope for Vega with custom cards and driver optimizations?

To be honest I see Vega as mining chips at this stage, if I were to ever buy a Vega card it would be primarily to mine, as the gaming performance simply isn't there.

I don't think a custom card would solve Vega's problem, imo it's a classic of AMD pushing their chips to the limit in order to have something that can "compete", there is a reason you can't overclock them much after all.

    System Builder - Ryzen 5 1600 3.2GHz 6-Core, GeForce GTX 1060 6GB 6GB SSC GAMING, Define R5 Blackout Edition ATX Mid Tower - PCPartPicker
Apologies for the late reply, work has restricted my free time.
Little note, didn't include an aftermarket CPU cooler because the stock ones for AMD's new chips are actually competent.

    Hi Yubi,

I'm back with a new one.
Couple of weeks back I (may have) fried my graphics card. I've decided it's time for a new rig, since the one I have is around 5 years old now.

    I intended to setup a (what I think is a) semi high end build (can't go lower than what I'm used to now, can we);

    Intel late 2017 - Erikdekamps's Saved Part List - Core i7-7700K 4.2GHz Quad-Core, GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4GB GAMING X 4G, Silent Base 800 (Black) ATX Mid Tower - PCPartPicker

Could you give me pointers on the hardware? Suggestions for better/other parts, perhaps go for AMD Ryzen 7?

Budget comes down to €1.000 or $1.183.

    Thanks a lot?

What would you intend to do with the system? I can only assume gaming isn't a high priority given the 1050 Ti.

I was aiming for gaming, RS3 on max is quite heavy, right? And some steam games like Van Helsing etc.
    I hope that doesn’t require a $700 1089 :(

Edit: My current (fried) graphics card is a 6850, it was doing very well, I think. Would that compare?

In that case a 1050 Ti will be perfectly fine, it's a fair bit more powerful than a HD6850.
If you were more into the productivity side I would suggest the switch to Ryzen, however the 7700k's IPC would be better for gaming and still hold its own in productivity.

That build looks fine to me, though I would be mindful of ram clearance with the NH-D15, though you can always shift the fan up a little if it comes to that.

Looks good to me, not including a CPU cooler is a good move as the stock ones from AMD's Ryzen line are pretty good.
The motherboard is a low end chipset but given what you intend to do, there shouldn't be any problems.
If you can stretch the budget for a 1060 I would recommend it, especially for Diablo with large groups.
