My old botting ban has now been expired. if I bot again, will it be perm or will be temp?

If you bot you're always risking a perm, regardless of expired offences. A lot of people get perm as first offence for macro.

Doesn't matter, mains can still get permed first strike. IMO all comes down to luck. You are likely to get a 48hr first, but you can't rule out a perm. It happens.

Expired bans at least dont add up with other bans.
If you have an unexpired 48h ban and get another one, you are permed.
If the previous 48h ban is expired though, you are not permed.
To my knowledge at least. Never had the patience to wait out a ban myself hehe

I had a tempban on my old main account which expired in 2008 but I still got permbanned on my “first offense” in 2017, there’s no way to tell you what’s gonna happen

I think they judge it on any patterns in your playtime, e.g. if it's expired like 5 years ago but you haven't played for like 4 years they may consider your account to be fairly 'fresh' considering it hasn't been used in so long.

My theory on temp vs perma ban is that jagex will likely perm you without warning iff:
    • it's a fairly new account
    • it's an old account without a lot of playtime
    • it's an old account with a lot of playtime, but the account hasn't been played much recently
    • you already have recent ban(s)
    • you bot too much like an insane person

I've gotten perm bans on "aged" accounts if I hadn't played on it for months/years and then botted straight away. But any time I've spent a lot of time playing an account semi-legit then I start botting it, I find banrates drastically fall/jagex is more likely to give out temp bans.

Just personal experience. Jagex seems more hesitant to ban established accounts than fresh/inactive ones.

Double temp bans, total play time approx 30 days over 1100 day time period.

They can still offer temp bans after an expired ban, I've had this many times. See below for my most extreme example :) Also, it is not currently banned.
