Hello and welcome to my Fishing guide.

    1. What Is Fishing?

With Fishing, players can catch fish in fishing spots all around RuneScape. Fishes are used to train the Cooking Skill. These fish are often fished for their ability to restore Hitpoints (Lifepoints) when a player is injured. A fish must be cooked before it can be eaten.
More info about Fishing can be found here: Fishing

    2. Why Choose Fishing?

Why choose Fishing to be your next skillcape? First of all, the fishing cape has great looks, and fits with a lot of outfits. Fish are also on high demand, because of this high demand, fishes can be sold for a fairly high price, which can leave you with a huge pile of money. Alternatively, you can use the Fast way to 99 instead of the Money-Making way, and get the Skill Cape a lot faster, but without any profit.

    3. 1-99 The Fast Method

Okay let's start the journey to that sexy Fishing Skill Cape. First of all, i'd like to advise you to visit Hank in Lumbridge. Hank is located in Hank's Fishing Shop. This shop can be found north of the Lumbridge Castle. Claim a Crayfish Cage from him. You should also buy a Fishing Rod, 500-1k Bait, a Fly Fishing Rod and all of his Feathers. More Feathers can be bought from The Grand Exchange.

    [IMG] 1-10 Fishing
For level 1 to 10 Fishing, you should fish Crayfish. Alternatively you can fish Shrimps with a Small Fishing Net (can also be claimed from Hank in Lumbridge), but those take longer to fish.
Some good fishing spots to catch crayfish are:
    - East of the Lumbridge Church
    - West of Fred The Farmer his farm

    [IMG]10-20 Fishing
Now it's time to blow the dust off your Fishing Rod and grab some Bait. We're going to fish for Herring now.
You can fish Herring on a few places:
    - North-west of Draynor Village's bank
    - At the east side of the Lumbridge Swamp
    - South of the Al Kharid Bank

    [IMG]20-48 Fishing
We're moving on to Trout. To fish trouts (and later on Salmon) you need a Fly Fishing Rod and Feathers. At level 30 you will start to fish Salmon too.
Places to go fish Trout and Salmon are:
    - In the river west of The Goblin house in Lumbridge
    - The river East of Barbarian Village
    - The river that runs trough Shilo Village (Shilo Village Quest required)

Congratulations! You made it to the last stage of this guide. Unfortunately this part also takes the longest. You need to claim a Barbarian Rod from Otto. To get it, first speak to Otto, who is located east of the Tree Gnome Stronghold about Barbarian Fishing, and then look under his bed. The Barbarian Rod will be there. Please note that to catch these fish you either need 30 Strength and Agility or 45 Strength and Agility, so this method is not good for Skillers. Skillers should stick to fishing fishing Trout and Salmon.

At 48 you should fish Leaping Trout (requires 30 Strength and Agility). The Leaping Trout can be cut up with a Knife into Fish Offcuts and Roe.

At Level 58 you should fish Leaping Salmon (also requires 30 Strength and Agility. You can also cut this fish with a Knife into Fish Offcuts and Roe.

At level 70 you should move on to Leaping Sturgeon. (requires 45 Strength and Agility). Just like the other Leaping fishes, you can cut these into Fish Offcuts and Roe with your Knife.
More info about Barbarian Fishing Can be found here.

    4. 1-99 The Money-Making Method

Now it's time for the Money-Making way to that sexy Fishing Skill Cape. First of all, i'd like to advise you to visit Hank in Lumbridge. Hank is located in Hank's Fishing Shop. This shop can be found north of the Lumbridge Castle. Claim a Crayfish Cage and a Small Fishing Net from him. You should also buy a Fishing Rod, 500-1k Bait, a Fly Fishing Rod and all of his Feathers. You should also buy a Lobster Cage and a Harpoon from The Grand Exchange. More Feathers can also be bought from The Grand Exchange.

Now it's time to start fishing Lobsters. So grab a Lobster pot and start fishing them. If you fish Lobsters at Karamja, you can bank your Lobsters at Stiles. Stiles is located under the vulcano near the water.
Locations to fish for Lobsters are:
    - North of Karamja
    - At the beach of Catherby

    [IMG]62-76 Fishing
Now were going to fish some Monkfish. In order to fish Monkfish you need to complete the Swan Song Quest. Skillers cannot complete this quest. For Skillers it is advised to keep fishing Lobsters. Remember Skillers, at level 63 you can enter the Fishing guild, which has bank located very close to the fishing spots. You can only fish monkfish at the Picastoris Fishing Colony, which is located in the far north of RuneScape, above the Picastoris Hunter Area.

    These locations are:
    - Fishing Guild
    - Catherby

You just made it to the last step in this Fishing Journey. Congratulations! Now its time to go into the Living Rock Caverns. These caverns are located in the Dwarven Mines, close to the Enterance at the White Wolf Mountains. You need a Fishing Rod and Living Minerals to catch rocktails. Also, please go to a Living Rock Caverns World when fishing there, as there are monsters in there who can attack you. The Living Rock Caverns Words are 84 and 77. Skillers can go here, although they might want to stick to fishing Sharks as it's safer.

    6. Tips and Tricks

Training can be very boring and it requires a lot of waiting. You can watch TV Shows or movies while fishing. Listening to music is always an advice to keep you motivated. Also, there is a Fishing minigame called Fishing Trawler. You can play this minigame to keep you motivated when Fishing itself gets boring.
