Bug Runemate won't start up Mac

I recently updated my Java and next time I went to use RuneMate it would not start up.
The icon comes up in app bar at bottom and then vanishes in a split second.
I get no error message or anything so not sure why when I open it, it immediately closes.
I have uninstalled both RuneMate and Java and reinstalled both and still the same problem.
Any thoughts on how to fix this? Does RuneMate just need an update for latest Java on Macs or is it something else?

    Thanks

Uninstall any Java installations on your computer.

    Uninstall RuneMate.

Install RuneMate, where it will automatically install the required Java version.

Do not manually install or update Java.

Tried to use Standalone version and get the error message "The JAVA JAR file "RuneMate.jar" could not be launched. Check the Console for possible error messages."

From what I've found, this hasn't been working since January~ give or take.

Right click on RuneMate and click Explore Contents, you'll want to run RuneMate.jar directly, located in one of the folders there. You will require to download the Java SDK (100-200mb~) to launch it directly. It will open

I unfortunately havn't been able to get beyond this point, and actually start the bot as it seems the functionality is broken, but it may work on your machine?

What happens on my mac using the above method to open it:

    - Can't launch browser for jav_config.ws (running it manually doesn't work either, this protocol doesn't appear to be registered)
    - Can't open RS3 client
    - Can't detect RS3 client when it's opened
    - The above issues persist even when opening the .jar file from Terminal using sudo open RuneMate.jar

Exact same issue using the Standalone version

I got this working on mac.

Just use the steps I gave above and make sure you're using the LEGACY runescape client.
