This is my first time using runemate and everytime i try starting it the client gets stuck on "downloading game", what do I do?

Disable windows firewall that usually does the trick.

I have been leaving it for 2 hours, and my internet speed is 30mb down so i dont think thats the problem. I also disabled my norton firewall but its still not doing anything.

Try disabling windows firewall as well if it was active. What country are you in? Can you load the game from the runescape client fine?
