    I done that before work this morning and the same thing is happening.

    i am now running java 8 and the same computer as above. the same issue is occurring. the new log is: 00:00:00 INFO Attempting to start official client. If it does not open shortly please do so manually. 00:00:47 INFO Failed to bind to the game client because of an IOException
