Any particular reason why RS3 had a massive downswing in botting over the years?

I understand that the majority of botting comes from gold farmers, and that RS3 gold is down the tubes, but it still holds value. Is the detect too good now to be worth it? Gold worth too little?

Really curious to hear about the whole situation.

Jagex removed the Java based client, which virtually every bot client used.

And with the RS3 playerbase much smaller than it was, it's just not worth bot developer's time to create something functional.
