I was permanently banned first offence, and I appealed it and recieved an e-mail saying I have 2 appeals. Anyone else have luck with their new system? I was banned a month ago permanently on a burner account and this was not the case.

I would expect the success rate of the new system to be low, especially for accounts recently banned. And I would also expect it to take weeks to get a response, as they will be overwhelmed with submissions right now.
