I just downloaded the client (I'm new) and when I try to open it I get an error message with "A Java Exception has occurred."

What am I doing wrong?

Uninstall all versions of Java you have and then install Java 8 64bit. Emphasis on the two bolded parts.

I've done that, now I open it with Java and it opens the cmd box for a second and then closes it, nothing else happens, but I dont get the error message

Have you looked in your installed program list to make sure the only installed version is the one Arbi mentioned?

Run from a cli and give us the output.

Assuming Windows 8.1:
Go to the directory with the RM jar in it.
Go file -> Open command prompt.
Type java -jar RuneMate.jar

Getting the same error , When i oppen in cmd i get --->
