Not 100% sure, but I think the confusion might be in the distinction between upgrade hours and premium credits.
If you're trying to use premium bots, you'll need to buy premium credits to be used with premium bots (https://www.runemate.com/community/dbtech-credits/currency/credits.1/). The sponsor upgrade you bought (and also supporter) is to get you more hours for free bots specifically.
