As many of you may know, Intellij is the most popular IDE among RuneMate developers. Here are some useful shortcuts I use to lessen the hassle and speed up coding.

Alt + Insert

Perhaps my most used shortcut, this one lets you insert many different lines of code such as constructors, getters and setters.

One of its many uses is for enums. Let's say I define a bunch of variables in an enum.

I can simply hit the shortcut and this menu will show up.

I simply hit enter when it highlights Constructor.

I select all the fields I want and hit enter or OK and voila.

I can do he same for getters as well.

Ctrl + N

I use this to open any class in my project.

Ctrl + O

Used to override any method.

Ctrl + F9

Rebuilds the project, useful when testing you code.

Ctrl + Alt + T

Surrounds a statement or group of statements with various things.

Type the following line and hit enter and a system out println is added, handy for debugging.

Double tapping shift is also useful - it's a more universal version of the class searcher - allows you to jump directly to methods, files, etc.

Ctrl+Shift+A is also awesome if you want to find a setting or something like that without having to scroll through millions of options/etc. It will allow you to find basically any IDE action by typing its name or part of its name.

CTRL + ALT + M - extract method from selection
