Not really, SMART uses some really odd stuff that no client (That I know of) Uses.

Pretty sure this possibility was proven to be extremely unlikely, given the case that different operating systems use different drivers and there are thousands of different drivers that work differently. However, if you do have solid evidence that suggests so, don't hesitate to post.
