Should the system automatically refund if bot is used less than 5 minutes?

Currently the system works, but takes a very cookie cutter approach by charging you by the hour at the beginning of the hour. Examples of how this system is flawed:
Example A: SWIM runs bot and it struggles at start up (there is no qaulity script argument any bot has a chance to fail expecially at start up) SWIM is charged for a full hour even though he ran into problems at start. He now has to spend his very valuable time (hes the CUSTOMER) to contact the scripter for a refund.
Example B: SWIM runs the script for an hour and 10 seconds SWIM is charged for 2 hours because thats how the current system is set up.
Some things that could help:
Shortening the rate to charge per 30 or 15 minutes
Automatic refunds for scripts ran less than 5 minutes.
Stop script if login handler fails.

Not a bad idea tbh, I still think that RuneMate is dirt cheap for providing such a qualitive service so I personally don't mind spending some extra money on it.
But I perfectly understand your frustration, and I agree that something should be done in order to keep everyone happy.

I also think the same it's cheap and thats why I don't bother asking for refunds, because the losses are never huge, but theres room for improvement.

I personally say drop the time limit to 2 minutes.

Because if the bot fails immediately like that, well then you deserve a refund.

But a 2 minute limit would also be nearly impossible to abuse.

The part that makes me sad is this get suggested alot, and shot down.
Because I feel like the client has been built around people paying for time they don't use.

Common issue, but nothing ever gets done about it.

This. Actually there's no even need to add refund system on it. Just change the system so that the billing starts after 2 minutes and so on. Easy.

I mean this isn't even needed if we all make functional bots :p . Plus a non dick dev will refund you. But I guess 2 min is fair.
I'm a pretty good guy generally, but I don't always have time to go over people wanting a refund because they fail to set up a bot. 2 minutes seems fair to me.

Most of the times it's users fault, but I think it would be fair to make the bot more noob friendly. I think it would be a lot easier for the authors too as they wouldn't need to get bothered by these refund requests.

Make it start billing after 1 or 2 minutes. That will be a very valued change.

Even the best bots can fail to start due to either runescape client bugs or runemate bugs. I've had bots start with no area to input bot options.

It would help with user retention *coughcough*

To add to this the payment system needs some working for the benefit of runemate as a whole as it is flawed in more ways. As of now, it is possible to go negative balance if the bot is already running it won't stop. NOT looking for a ban or anything (not sure if this is known or not) , but please just delete this part of the post if it's against the rules.

Probably a good idea. Personally I couldn't care less. My dumb ass failed to setup the bot three times in a row but I ain't looking for a refund for my own stupidity, lol. Now I could see where some people would get pissed off with the client failing but let's be realistic, it's dirt cheap and only a fool would leave there balance low enough to have a few failed start ups drain the remainder. Here's a suggestion, pick up a large gift card and set it aside for upgrading your account if you go that route and a smaller one, say $50, and have it charged in $5 increments. Hell, I paid for my balance using the scrap change on a prepaid card i had in my drawer. It's called money management, not rocket science.

I like the idea. Saves the hussle for users and authors and makes the program more friendly. Basically a win-win for all parties involved.
