In fact this is the perfect opportunity to bot. If you get banned while on your trip, you can appeal the ban once you‘re at your home IP again and chances are great the ban will get squashed since they think someone hijacked your account.

I like the idea, is it possible to not use a VPN now and if I do get banned, login with a VPN close to home and try to appeal it a week or so after? Because when I get back home it won't be the same IP since I'll have a new router/internet provider.

No it has to be the same IP as far as I know.

Well that's unfortunate. When I left the US I got rid of everything including my router and internet provider so even if I wanted to I couldn't get the same IP.
It's been about 70 days since I logged onto the account so I feel like it would be safe to not use a VPN but the area I'm in, I just feel like my account would be locked/banned.
